Junior Judging at Roanoke Valley Horse Show

There has been a change in the schedule for Junior Judging at the Roanoke Valley Horse Show.  Junior Judging will take place on Friday night only, and winners will be recognized during Saturday evening’s session.

Junior Judging Winners Announced for Old Dominion Classic

The first ASHAV Junior Judging contest of 2011 was held on Friday, April 22 at the Old Dominion Classic Horse Show in Lexington, VA.  The winners were:

1st place – Jordan Burks
2nd place – Emily Ball

The next Junior Judging contest will take place on Friday, May 13 at Bonnie Blue.

2011 ASHAV Junior Judging Schedule Announced

Junior Judging is a great way to expand your knowledge of judging, as well as a great way to interact with other youth who love horses. All youth aged 18 and under are welcome to participate, and you do not need to be a member of ASHAV.

The schedule for the 2011 ASHAV Junior Judging is listed below.  High point awards will be presented to the Champion and Reserve Champion in each division at the annual ASHAV awards brunch, held in early 2012. • Old Dominion Classic Spring Show—Friday Night*
• Bonnie Blue National—Friday Night
• Roanoke Valley Horse Show—Friday Night & Saturday Morning
• Southern States Horse Show—Friday Night & Saturday Morning
• ASHAV—Friday Night
• Old Dominion Classic Fall Show—Friday Night*

*Entries permitting

Recognition of winners for each division will take place during the Saturday evening session at each show.

RULES:

· There will be two divisions:  Junior (13 & under) and Senior (14-18)
· Classes judged must have a minimum of 4 entries.
· Junior Judges must judge a minimum of four classes, and a maximum of 6.  If 5 classes are judged, the lowest score will be dropped.  If 6 classes are judged, both the highest and the lowest score will be dropped.
· Judging forms must be signed and turned in to the sponsor before the class results are announced.
